About the Artists
Sean Henry, is best known for his lifelike and expressive illustrations of Jamaican sceneries, culture and portraits. His drawings are derived from the unique and realistic island life.Since graduating in 1987, Sean has had many exhibitions in Jamaica and overseas, and is currently designing and printing unique shirts in his company IYA limited.

Process
Sean created a colourful and vibrant design that the community members of Tivoli loved and accepted. They commended on the design with words like “Real lovely”, “Fabufantastic”, depicts what we have participated over the years”. A community that has struggles with political affiliation and internal wars and crime was seeking for a different way to be showcased.

Artists from Denham Town, the neighbouring community, came together to apply Sean’s design on the wall of the Multi-purpose Community Field along the Bustamente Highway in Tivoli. It has become the backdrop of the regular community sports activities, competitions or simple friendly ball games.

Vetran mural painter Michael Robinson has been painting Downtown Kingston, especially in West Kingston, such as Trench town, Denham Town and Tivoli for over 20 years. He is a master of portraits and has memorialized many celebrities, Artists and Reggae Stars, Politicians and Activists. His close assistant Nicholas Gabiddon, a young and eager apprentice, is now a self-sufficient painter himself, having learned from Micheal and helped create this vibrant image. Additional artists included Garrick, Michael Kerr and Francis King, experienced artists from West kingston.
