Background:
This course mirrors the Level 2 Micro Entrepreneurship course offered by HEART NSTA Trust. It is designed for persons who are desirous of working and already have the requisite knowledge, skills and attitudes in the area and are desirous of obtaining certification. Please see the appendix for units and elements from the HEART course.

Overview:
Starting a creative business requires special attention to specific areas to reduce risk and improve the likelihood of sustainable success. This course will provide insight into back office activities required for creatives to formalize and scale their business.

• Choosing the right accounting service provider
• Basics of IP registration
• Cash flow basics
• Communicating your brand and product
• Opening a bank account
• Documenting your expenses
• Introduction to pricing
• Setting up a simple payroll

STEPS FOR ONLINE APPLICATION on the HEART/NSTA Trust Portal

STEP 1
The first step in the admission process is to complete an Online Application which is located at: https://apply.heart-nta.org/

STEP 2
Select the Apply Now under the NDAR area and register for the Micro Entrepreneur course under the Learning for Earning Activity Programme (LEAP) Centre by selecting the apply button and following the instructions given.
(Please Note that if you have more than two applications on the system it may not allow you to register for this program. If this is the case please contact HEART/NSTA Trust at (876)929-3410 or 99HEART (43278) to have it rectified).

STEP 3
Email copies of the following documents in order to be fully registered in the course – Micro Entrepreneur to [email protected]. In the subject field please write Micro Entrepreneur Application Documents along with your full name.
