South Camp Road Mural Project

Background

Kingston Creative is a registered non-profit organization founded in February 2017. Its mission is to enable Caribbean creatives to succeed so that they can create economic and social value, gain access to global markets and have a positive impact on their communities.

In November 2018 Kingston Creative launched a project called Paint the City which seeks to develop Street Art Murals throughout Downtown Kingston, with the ultimate vision of making Downtown Kingston an Art District and Creative Hub in furtherance of the UNESCO Creative City designation. To date 49 murals have been created, two with Augmented Reality (AR) functionality.

Kingston Creative, as part of its Paint the City project, invites interested artists to submit proposals for a mural at 1 1/2 Harbour Street, on the corner of South Camp Road. This mural will create an inviting entry into the vibrant city of Kingston, as it is very visible when approaching the city from the NormanManley Boulevard. The mural design seeks to encourage us to protect our communities and youth through protecting the environment. Be inspired by the slogans ‘We Care’ and ‘Leading Change’
This mural project is sponsored by Grace Kennedy Foundation, ICD Holdings Limited and Sherwin Williams

Theme

The Mural seeks to bring attention to the ENVIRONMENT, and looking at ways that people, as the Community, can improve current environmental dilemmas.
