Which Type of Registration is best for you?

Business Name

Refers to the registration of an entity that is either sole proprietor or partnership. Uses your personal TRN and is taxed as self-employed person. Renews every 3 years on the expiration date stated on the certificate and cost is same as registration.

Costs $2500

Limited Liability Company

Refers to the registration of a limited liability commercial enterprise. A company can either be non-profit (Charity, Club, NGO etc) or profit generating. Has its own TRN and requires its own tax filings yearly and does not need to be renewed.

Cost $24,500

Copyright

Refers to the legal rights given to the owner of a piece or pieces of work. This includes musical compositions, books, artwork… etc.  You already have this right. Easy and short process.

Cost Varies but is generally cheap and is priced in sets.

Trademarks

Any word, phrase, symbol, design, or a combination of these things that identifies your goods or services. You do not automatically have trademark rights.  The process is usually done in 2 parts, 2 payments – 1st part takes 6 to 9 months.
