Introducing the Artwalk Festival

Don’t miss the Artwalk Festival! It happens on the last Sunday of the month in Downtown Kingston on Water Lane and Church Street. The free arts festival celebrates music, literature, film, animation, dance, fashion, culinary arts and poetry. Creatives come together every month to showcase their talents. You can book a tour, play dominoes, join the Paint & Sip, sample Jamaican street food, shop amazing products from local artisans and watch amazing live performances.

 

Next Up: Film & Digital Artwalk Festival

On Sunday May 26, Kingston Creative hosts ‘Cinema Kingston’, a screening of local content from Jamaican filmmakers and animators, digital artists, Youtubers, Game Developers, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality designers and other talents. Start the day with a tour that explores historic locations in Kingston, the Ward Theatre, Queens Theatre, Ambassadors theatre and more. Enjoy the open-air cinema in Water Lane, live music by DJ Fenix, shop for handcrafted Jamaican gifts in the Artisan Village and ‘Discover Downtown’ with our tours team as they offer tours all day. At this Film and Digital Festiva, you can see films from the Africa World Documentary collection, JAFTA’s Propella, see the new video games, try out virtual reality, enjoy cartoons and animated shorts, independent film and more all by Jamaican creators. The Institute of Jamaica and the National Gallery are open on Last Sundays, so make sure to check out their new exhibitions and visit local bars like Nadines, F&B Downtown and Ambassador’s Bar.

 

Submit your Independent Film or Digital Content

Calling all creators! If you have content that you would like to be screened in the Independent block, please submit Short Films, Animated Shorts, Digital Photography Works, Video Game Trailers, Digital Art or NFT’s, YouTube Videos. Submissions should be no more than 10 minutes long. You will be notified if your work is selected for the screening and there is also a $20,000 prize for the *People’s Choice* winner in the Independent category! So don’t hesitate – send us your entry today!

The Artwalk festival is held on Church Street and Water Lane.

The Artwalk Festival is free.

What time does it start?

The fun starts at 11 am and ends at 5pm.

How do I get there?

Drive from Parade (St. William Grants Park) down Church Street to Tower Street.

Where do I park?

Parking on the street is free on Sundays, so you can park in the Rubis gas station, the KSAMC Tower Street parking lot or even the Duke Street parking deck.

What is there to do

You can shop for local art and crafts in the artisan market, enjoy DJ’s, unleash your creativity at the Paint & Sip, live music, walk through Water Lane and check out local bars, play in domino tournaments, join the dance classes and taste delicious Jamaican street food

What should I bring?

Bring a hat, water bottle, comfortable shoes and positive vibes!
